Dell is a crap maker while HP is an industry leader in R&D. Dells are only good for rich companies who are able and willing to pay for extended warranties and next business day onsite service, that is all. If you feel comfortable with stuff like installing and configuring software applications then your best place to shop for a desktop is local computer shop where you will get more for the money and better service.
